After you have taken your pictures you
need to download them onto your computer either by
connecting your camera directly into the computer or by
using a card reader, either way when the pictures arrive in
the computer they have to be stored in such a way that you
can easily find them. You can either use the "Picture"
section of your operating system, XP, Vista etc or the
software as supplied with your camera, creating new folders
for events, holidays, people etc with files listing the date
and title so that as your library increases you can find any
picture by date, event or name.
After a while you will want to improve
your pictures just like we used to do in the old type
darkroom, just imagine that your computer is the enlarger
and the printer is is the trays of chemicals, but a lot
easier, cleaner and drier. There are several easy to
use software packages such as Adobe Elements 7 which cover
everything that the beginner, and even the more advanced
user will ever want. You will learn how to crop,
adjust highlight and shadow, colour balance, turn colour
pictures into black and white or sepia, the list is endless
as is the fun and possibilities.
We can guide you through
all the above, either as an individual or small group, just
contact me.
